CE Requirements
The Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA)
The Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA) provides the following information for professional development requirements prior to license renewal.
Real estate agents and brokers are required to complete 18 credits of real estate related education in each two-year registration cycle. The current registration cycle ends September 30, 2007.
A mandatory course on basic agency and the new Rules is currently under development and will be available no later than autumn 2006. Industry members will receive 12-15 credits for this course (and will, therefore, have to complete only an additional 3-6 credits to satisfy the 18-credit requirement).
Carrying forward credits
A maximum of 6 credits may be carried forward if more than the required number of credits are completed in a two-year registration cycle.
Note: A member shall not receive credit for the same professional development course more than once in any two-year registration cycle.
